Tea basics
What Is a Tea Sachet?
A tea sachet is a pre-portioned packet for steeping. It is usually designed to give the leaf more room than a small flat tea bag, while retaining the convenience of a single serving.

Shape is useful, not decisive
Many sachets have a roomy, three-dimensional shape. That can help larger tea leaves circulate in water. But a generous packet cannot improve stale tea, and a poorly portioned sachet can still brew weak or harsh. The contents matter more than the name.
Sachets also vary in material. If compostability or plastic content matters to you, look for a specific material claim from the maker instead of assuming all sachets are alike.
How to brew one well
Use a cup large enough for the packet to move freely. Follow the maker’s starting time and temperature, then adjust for your taste. Remove the sachet when the steep is complete, especially if bitterness is a problem.
White Field is evaluating both loose leaf and sachet formats. Until a final product label is available, we will not claim a particular material, count, or blend specification.
